The Software Engineering Associate 3 assists the team in executing routine software engineering activities, well covered by existing procedure and processes, in supporting the delivery of the engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT’s commercial strategy through cross functional project and technical delivery and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence.

What you’ll be doing

  •  Development, Implementation & Maintenance of Cloud native web application; following software development lifecycles.
  •  Understanding CI/CD pipeline and VersionControl over Git.
  •  Knowledge to deliver in Agile Methodology. 
  •  Ability to do deep dive on technical areas and get the best outcome out of technically challenging situations.
  •  Understaning of telecom domain /OSS to help deliver customer solutions.
  •  Collaborating with rest of engineering team to achive common goal of quality & reusable deliverables.
  •  Drive strong engineering practices in the team
  •  Ability to debug complex issues and provide the right solution

Required for the job

  •  Proven experience as a Backend Python Software Developer, preferably with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  •  Strong proficiency in Python and experience with relevant frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask).
     Solid understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  •  Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, and collaborative development workflows.
  •  Understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in designing and developing API endpoints.
  •  Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, and technologies is a plus.
  •  Experience with network automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Napalm, Nornir) and network management systems is a plus.
  •  Familiarity with telecom-specific concepts such as OSS/BSS, network provisioning, and service orchestration is a plus.
