Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

An Asset and Configuration Specialist will role model the BT capabilities and values, driving best practice and improvements within and beyond their immediate area of responsibility, keeping the customer at the centre of everything we do.

 

This job role can be based in Ipswich or Glasgow. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance. 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Accountable: Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work covering technical responsibilities.

 

  • Accountable: Establishes technical objectives and delegates responsibilities.

 

  • Leadership: Influences a significant part of own organisation and influences customers/suppliers and industry at a senior management level (e.g. around resourcing of delivery teams and technical direction of work).

 

  • Leadership: Directs work resourcing, owns site issues and resolution of problems

 

  • Leadership: Performs technical coaching and mentoring

Essential Skills

 

  • Be an experienced and accomplished professional with a knowledge of telecommunications networks.
  • Ideally Asset and Configuration Management (A&CM) system or processes knowledge/experience or the aptitude to learn. 
  • Ideally ITIL experience/accredited.
  • Experience of using spreadsheets to populate and manipulate data to a moderate level of competency.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when following precise processes and procedures.

  • Able to undertake some travel, with the possibility of overnight stays.
  • Prepared to work occasional out of hours if required.
