Tower Division is startup division here at BT, with the aim to improve the commercialisation of our infrastructure. You will be flexible and ambitious, helping you to overcome the challenging nature of a startup division and recognise the exciting opportunities this creates.
Specifically, you will support the Commercial Principal building & maintaining credible forecast capabilities, identifying and driving forward new commercial opportunities, tracking and delivering on existing projects and taking decisive action at pace. You will be responsible for optimization of scarce resources such as money, time, talent, and materials. Each of these areas will require strong business partnership to underpin the transformation journey that Tower Division is on and ensure we have robust and accurate reporting and forecasting.
You will have experience in building commercial models and negotiating commercial outcomes in a telco infrastructure environment.
You will be efficient and effective in software use, enabling you to track milestones and capture data into our existing internal databases. In addition, this is an exciting time to join Tower Division as we have built a new, market leading data system that you will be an integral part of molding, alongside our data strategy and operations managers.
Skills:
Demonstrable professionalism with a proven ability to operate in a complex, fast paced matrixed business environment.
A track record of effectively influencing stakeholder requirements.
Financial modelling & reporting, with value add insights
Strong knowledge of data management tools, databases, comfortable with large data sets.
Strategic capability, commercial awareness and modelling aptitude
Collaborative approach to problem solving.
Proficient in excel, has strong written and verbal presentation skills and a keen eye for detail.
Advantageous:
Qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, IIA, CISA, ACT, CTA, MCT, IR Society Certificate or equivalent), or exceptionally equivalent experience.
Expertise and knowledge of the tower co. market and its evolution over time.
What you will be doing:
Building & maintaining financial models and commercial offers for customers and suppliers
Owning the forecast and budget for Tower Division making recommendations that have a tangible impact on business performance and measure & track this performance
Owns capex and opex prioritisation, financial authority on efficiency and investment programmes, as well as all internal/external commercial opportunities across the unit
Ensures reporting information is provided in a timely and accurate manner to inform strategic decision making within the unit, communicating risks & opportunities clearly across the team
Drives a data-led and insight orientated culture, ensures high quality data sets for decision making are available for the operational and other teams (e.g., on key risks, sensitivities, and opportunities to achieve targets)
