About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP R2R Solution Architect to join the SAP Finance team. This role is responsible for defining and owning the end-to-end solution architecture for Record-to-Report (R2R) processes within SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, finance strategy, and transformation objectives.
The Solution Architect will lead the design and optimisation of integrated R2R solutions, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Accounting, Closing & Reporting, and Financial Consolidation. The role requires establishing robust, scalable, and compliant financial processes, while ensuring seamless integration with upstream (P2P, I2C) and downstream systems (reporting platforms, consolidation tools, external regulators).
In this position, you will provide judicious architecture leadership and governance across programmes, translating complex business requirements into standardised, high-quality SAP solutions. You will define target state architecture, design principles, and roadmaps, while ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness (including SOX/GRC considerations).
The role involves driving design authority across delivery teams, reviewing and approving functional and technical designs, and ensuring consistency across multiple workstreams and releases. You will work closely with senior business stakeholders, finance leadership, and IT teams to influence key architectural decisions and enable efficient period-end close, financial transparency, and improved reporting accuracy.
Additionally, you will mentor solution designers and functional consultants, establish reusable design patterns, and promote standardisation and continuous improvement across the finance landscape. The role plays a critical part in finance transformation initiatives, including S/4HANA migrations, automation of close processes, and adoption of digital innovations (e.g., AI-driven reconciliations, advanced analytics).
