About the role

 

The Manager is responsible for defining, driving and delivering the regional procurement strategy for a £50M+ category in Latin America. Key activity includes spend management, strategic sourcing & procurement business partnering with over 50 suppliers. This role develops and implements appropriate framework, policies and procedures that are both global in nature as well as adapting to regional differences. This role holds senior executive and strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement competency and continuous value creation for the business.

 

You’ll have the following responsibilities

 

Strategic

•      Accountable for the creation and delivery of L2 category plans and sourcing activities, through planning and execution of sourcing, bid support, supplier and risk management activities

•      Build and maintain category expertise, apply best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics

 

Operational

•      Identify business improvements leveraging the commercial, design and process to minimise the Total Cost of Ownership

•      Collaborate with regional and industry teams, execute and deliver category plan & sourcing activities against key metrics, ensure relevance and adoption to each CFU and vertical with the support of B2B & Customer Solutions

•      Adhere to procurement processes and activities with other procurement category and back-office teams

•      Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the business objectives and key transformational programmes

 

Activities:

•      Manage and deliver category spend and performance, develop and deliver category plan and long-term values, implement business improvements through optimizing commercial, design and process levers that minimize the Total Cost of Ownership

•      Drive and deliver end-to-end sourcing projects including complex contractual, benchmarking and pricing models

•      Develop and deliver policies and frameworks that underpin products and service delivery

•      Collaborate with regional category teams, when required to ensure category plan implementation at a regional level

•      Maintain internal and external networks, to ensure buy in and improvements of customer value and Total Cost of Ownership

•      Manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements utilizing the latest contracting tools, templates and terms and conditions, ensure required performance and contractual obligations are met, while incorporating innovative improvement initiatives 

 

You’ll have the following skills and experience

 

  • 10 years’ experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate and deliver through high performance teams
  • Strong business expertise in Telecom category, particularly around supplier capabilities, wholesale commercial models, product lifecycles in Data, Voice, Unified communications, SDWAN, Ethernet, Colocation, Satellite and Broadcasting services.
  • Negotiation and management of wholesale contracts and terms
  • Application of federal and local regulatory conditions and impact to BT’s ability to purchase 3rd party services to support end customers
  • Demonstrates a track record of decision-making capability and delivers against key metrics
  • Strong relationship management skills & ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment
  • Ability to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirements between BT and Suppliers, deliver projects and results on time and in full
  • Experience in business partnering and supplier relationship management
  • Demonstrate strong continuous improvement skills that exceeds customer expectations
  • Proficient in English, Portuguese and Spanish
