About the role
The SAC Delivery Function has been established to help the BT Finance community maximise the value that we gain from our investment in SAP. The Function is split between Planning and Reporting, mirroring the structure of the wider BT FP&A community.
The SAC Planning Delivery team works alongside the SAC Reporting Delivery team leading the design, development and support of standardised SAC templates and planning models that enable best in class planning capabilities across the BT Finance organisation. The end goal is one harmonised SAC FP&A solution for planning, forecasting and management reporting.
The focus of this role is to develop and support new SAP planning templates and models in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and Supporting new standardised SAP planning input forms/templates and models in SAC that support our strategic planning processes.
- Working with stakeholders to ensure that the development of our new SAC planning templates and models meets their requirements and enables best in class planning processes.
You are:
- An experienced developer of SAC planning input forms/ templates, reports, data actions and models.
- A commercially astute SAP advocate, comfortable working with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are supported by best in class SAP planning templates and models.
- A technical specialist, who leverages their skills and experience to develop SAP planning capabilities that positively transform planning processes.

What you’ll be doing(Role Accountabilities)
- Working closely with the Planning Design & Development Managers and peer Analysts to deliver SAP planning templates and models in SAC that improve the level of planning capability across BT Finance
- Implementing best in class development practises to deliver flexible and versatile solutions
- Delivering planning capability development projects, reporting on progress, risks and issue resolution
- Engaging with Group and Unit Finance stakeholders to ensure that new SAC developments meet their planning capability requirements
- Working closely with the BT Technology function to ensure appropriate support for new planning template and model development projects (e.g. requirements for changes in the underlying CFIN or BW data structures)
- Effectively managing stakeholder relationships across Finance and Technology to support the delivery of SAC planning development projects
- Establishing robust checking and validation processes for planning capability development with a zero-tolerance approach to technical error
- Maintaining a sufficient understanding of current performance trends across BT to ensure planning capability developments support key commercial challenges
- Development of training materials and delivery of demonstrations as required in preparation for deployment
- Supporting the evolution of SAC planning capability across Finance through knowledge sharing and participation in super-user forums and communities
What you’ll need to succeed (Skills & Experience)
Skills
- Strong hands-on technical skills in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and BPC, AFO
- Hands-on SAC planning template and model development experience
- Expert understanding of SAC planning capability development best practice
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical design
- Ability to influence, helping stakeholders understand and navigate design decisions
- Brilliant stakeholder management and relationship building skills
- Strong attention to detail with a zero-tolerance approach to technical error
- Solution driven, innovative, pace-setting and focused on commercial impact
- Nice to have: Finance qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with proven hands‑on experience in SAC planning template and model development.
- Experience delivering and supporting end‑to‑end SAC planning solutions, including templates, input forms and models.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver fit‑for‑purpose planning solutions.
- Track record of applying best‑practice SAC design principles to develop scalable, standardised planning models.
- Experience operating in a cross‑functional, matrixed environment, balancing technical delivery with stakeholder expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality solutions at pace while maintaining strong governance and control.
