About the role

The ESN will replace the existing Airwave network and will be built on the existing 4G network and will provide essential new voice, data services and critical comms to 300,000 members of Britain's Blue Light teams. It's also expected that the new network will save the government around £1 million a day

This role shall ensure that any new ESN projects and ESN services are managed from concept through to in-life operations whilst ensuring effective, efficient operations services are provided by our ESN supplier portfolio

You will be required to undergo National Security Vetting (BPSS)

What you’ll be doing

• Supplier lead for dedicated ESN or related contracts/solutions.
• Financial accountability for supplier contracts and ongoing operational spend.
• Build and develop relationships with internal & external stakeholders to ensure successful operational performance in-line with ESN goals.
• Operations technical interface with ESN or other 3rd party vendors, building strategic relationships and handling investigations and escalations.  Regularly review contractual and operational performance of the ESN or other 3rd party supplier services through running/ attending governance forums.
• Accountability for driving improvement and exceptional performance on ESN Critical National Infrastructure workstreams.
• Represent BT Operations in mobilising and managing shared MNO Network management.
• Proactively establish and develop internal and external relationships to achieve ESN and other performance & development goals.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Knowledge of radio networks (RAN), with experience of working in operations, and experience of working in the field with power and transmission solutions

• Network Architecture – Strong understanding of network topology and component appreciation.

• Strong financial and business acumen – Show a knowledgeable in contracts, budgets, forecasting, supplier commercial behaviours and the drivers of organisational performance.

• Project Management fundamentals: strong skills in project delivery with demonstrating where you have worked with stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Contract Management: Aptitude/experience in developing new or existing contractual arrangement.
