About the role
The People & Culture Partner role involves strategically consulting with leaders and employees, leveraging empathy, challenge, curiosity, and a growth mindset to influence decisions, negotiate outcomes, and drive positive organisational change. This role will support business leaders to drive the people agenda in UK Business, partnering a team within Service and Business Operations, Brand & Marketing, Product or Customer Experience, where we are undergoing a huge business and people transformation.
Acting as a strategic partner to the business, building strong relationships with leaders to understand priorities, challenges and opportunities. Uses data, insight and HR expertise to influence decisions, shape people strategy and drive organisational performance. Provides coaching and guidance to managers, supports talent, organisational change and employee wellbeing, and works across HR teams to deliver practical, compliant and impactful people solutions. Continuously develops HR knowledge, embraces technology and analytics, and contributes across multiple priorities in an agile People & Culture function.
Ultimately, this role will support leaders to meet their growth ambitions with the right organisation, leadership, capability and culture in place. The P&C partner will ensure that People and Culture is a strategic enabler of the business performance, transformation and sustainable growth, helping deliver for customers today whilst building the workforce needed for tomorrow.
What you’ll be doing
•Develops a deep understanding of the business unit's strategy, goals, and challenges to provide relevant and impactful HR solutions. Provides proactive, data-driven insights to shape and influence business decisions and drive the people strategy.
•Builds and leverages strong relationships across all levels of the organisation, acting as a trusted advisor for business leaders to translate business objectives into actionable HR initiatives, and to facilitate seamless communication, decision-making, and action on people-related issues that impact business success.
•Leads strategic workforce planning activity, using internal and external insights to identify future workforce, capability and location requirements. Partners with business leaders to develop plans that ensure the organisation has the right skills, leadership, structures and resources to meet current and future business demands.
Provide strategic support on talent and succession planning aligned with business objectives, collaborating with Coe’s and partnering with managers on attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse and high-performing workforce.
•Contributes to organisational effectiveness initiatives, ensuring effective implementation of new structures, roles, and processes that support business needs.
•Serves as an HR expert, proactively seeking out opportunities to enhance HR knowledge, skills, and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices. Embraces and leverages HR technology to streamline processes, continuously improve efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.
•Utilises data and analytics to provide insights, measure the effectiveness of HR programmes, and inform strategic decision-making that drives business results. Presents data-driven recommendations to business leaders.
•As part of an agile P&C organisation, this role involves participating in cross-functional teams and contributing expertise to projects outside of primary specialisation to deliver value across multiple HR domains.
Essential Skills / Experience
•Business Partnering & Consulting / Stakeholder Management: Acts as a trusted advisor and builds strong relationships with colleagues and the business to drive business performance by demonstrating and applying a deep understanding of the business and commercial context. To be able to manage difficult messages in a complex, demanding stakeholder environment.
•Commercial Acumen: Possesses knowledge of critical business concepts relevant to the business unit and demonstrates the ability to use deep business knowledge to inform decision-making.
•Data Analysis / Decision Making: Against a backdrop of competing requirements, uses data insights to make difficult trade-offs and make clear, reasoned recommendations (or decisions depending upon DoA) on priorities (and what needs to stop being done)
Desirable Skills / Experience
•AI & Digital Workforce Expertise – Understanding of how AI, digital technology and automation are reshaping the workforce, roles and ways of working.
•Change & Transformation Adoption – Experience of supporting and embedding business transformation, with an understanding of change management and adoption principles.
•Storytelling & Communication – Ability to communicate clearly and compellingly, manage expectations and explain actions and outcomes to different audiences.
•Strategic Workforce Planning – Understanding of how workforce insights and business strategy can be used to anticipate future workforce needs and inform people priorities.
•Performance Management – Understanding of how effective performance management, feedback and development can support employee performance and alignment with business objectives.
•Growth Mindset – Commitment to continuous learning, reflection and developing new and existing skills, with a willingness to test new approaches and learn from experience.
