The BT group operates a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week. 

 

The Scope

 

The role holder will perform a critical role as part of the transformation of UK business connectivity portfolios including UK Fabric leading on the strategy, consumption, and implementation of EAD2 access from Openreach under the modular component framework approach of transformation under One Business.

 

EAD2 access is Openreach’s future strategy for dedicated fibre access in the UK. It is a material change in the design and consumption of fibre access and represents a significant cost efficiency opportunity for CPs including automated processes and experiences. EAD2 consumption into the UK Business Connectivity portfolios represents a critical element of the strategic transformation of the portfolios including optimising the connectivity cost base.

 

The Business connectivity portfolios represent a total of c.£700M revenue p.a. to BT business and provide the core foundations to BT Business ‘better on BT’ strategy.

 

The role offers a unique opportunity to play a critical role in driving the simplification and transformation of the Business connectivity portfolios transforming the portfolios, experience and cost base for the future.

What you’ll be doing

 

Define and own EAD2 product strategy, roadmap, and requirements, ensuring alignment with BT Business objectives.

 

Lead development, launch, and lifecycle management of products, including migration to next-generation platforms and integration into UK Fabric transformation.

 

Coordinate requirements across Business Connectivity portfolios and manage EAD2 as a common product component.

 

Oversee financial performance by managing CAPEX to deliver ROI and long-term customer value.

 

Collaborate with design teams to shape product experience and processes (L2C, T2R) across the full lifecycle.

 

Represent BT Business in industry forums, technical working groups, and Openreach meetings to influence standards and strategy.

 

Experience needed to be successful in the role

 

Ability to think strategically and commercially, assessing trade-offs and risks to recommend investment decisions that deliver business outcomes.

 

Deep understanding of connectivity markets, Ethernet-based services, and related technologies, including awareness of innovation and technology trends impacting product lifecycle.

 

Skilled in analysing market trends, identifying opportunities to maximise product adoption, and shaping strategies that align with customer and business needs.

 

Proven ability to engage credibly with key stakeholders and industry forums, influencing decisions and optimising market position.

 

Familiarity with product and solution design principles, including convergence impacts, and experience in guiding lifecycle from concept to delivery.
