About the role

The People & Culture Professional role is designed to develop the next generation of strategic People & Culture Partners within UK Business.

Working alongside experienced People & Culture Partners, you will support the delivery of the people agenda across key UK Business functions, helping leaders navigate business transformation, organisational change, workforce planning, talent priorities and employee experience.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of People & Culture activities, including talent and succession planning, strategic workforce planning, people insight and analytics, organisational effectiveness, employee relations and change programmes. Acting as a trusted support to both leaders and the wider P&C team, you will help ensure that people priorities are translated into practical actions that drive business performance.

This role provides an exceptional opportunity to build commercial understanding and develop strong partnering capability. You will work closely with business leaders, People Services and Centres of Expertise to deliver people initiatives that help UK Business achieve its growth ambitions whilst building the capability, culture and organisation needed for the future.

You will also play a key role in the delivery and continuous improvement of annual people processes including performance, reward, talent and succession, ensuring leaders receive high-quality support, insight and challenge throughout the year.

What you’ll be doing

Business Insight & Partnering Support: Develop a strong understanding of UK Business strategy and priorities, supporting People & Culture Partners to translate business challenges into practical people actions, build effective stakeholder relationships and provide insight to inform decision-making.
Data, Analytics & Workforce Insight: Analyse and interpret people data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, supporting workforce planning, reporting, talent reviews and leadership discussions with meaningful insight and storytelling.
Talent & Organisation: Support the delivery of talent, succession, development and annual people processes, alongside organisational change and initiatives that improve leadership capability, engagement and organisational effectiveness.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement: Support transformation and people change programmes, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve colleague and manager experiences, and leverage technology, automation and digital tools to improve People & Culture effectiveness.
•Developing as a Future Partner: Work alongside experienced People & Culture Partners to build commercial understanding, strategic partnering capability and confidence in providing data-led recommendations and constructive challenge, progressively taking ownership of defined areas of the people agenda.

Essential Skills / Experience

Commercial curiosity: You enjoy understanding how the business works and are interested in the priorities and challenges leaders face. You ask questions, seek to understand the "why" behind decisions and are curious about how People can help teams thrive, improve performance and enable business success.
Relationship-building and communication skills: The ability to build trust quickly, collaborate effectively and communicate with confidence across different audiences.
Strong data literacy and analytical thinking: Data will be at the heart of this role. You'll be naturally curious about what data is telling you, comfortable working with insight and able to identify trends, spot risks and translate information into clear recommendations and compelling stories that influence decision-making. You don't need to be a data scientist, but you do need to enjoy working with data and using evidence to solve problems.

Desirable Skills / Experience

A growth mindset and willingness to experiment: This is an environment where we encourage people to test ideas, challenge existing approaches and learn through doing. You won't get everything right first time, and that's okay. We will give you the support, coaching and psychological safety to take considered risks, fail fast, learn quickly and continuously improve.
Strong organisation and delivery skills: The ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate activity and follow through on commitments with attention to detail.
Seeing the bigger picture: You're curious about how organisations work and enjoy joining the dots. You look beyond the immediate request to understand what's really driving an issue, ask thoughtful questions and consider the wider impact of potential solutions.
A passion for continuous improvement: Always looking for better, simpler and more effective ways of working rather than accepting the status quo.
Digital and AI curiosity: Excitement about how technology can transform the employee experience, alongside a willingness to experiment, learn and champion new ways of working responsibly.
Learning agility and adaptability: This role comes with a steep learning curve. You'll be exposed to senior stakeholders, commercially critical business areas and emerging technologies from day one. We are looking for someone who learns quickly, adapts rapidly and is energised by stretching themselves outside of their comfort zone.
