Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

About the role

This job role can be based in London, Manchester & Ipswich. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Mon-Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance. 

 

You will be working as part of a Security Operations Team under a rota arrangement, to cover all aspects of this role between the hours of 07:00 -19:00 Monday – Friday.  You will be the first point of contact and meet / greet ‘front desk’, for customers, colleagues and senior stakeholders for the business unit, providing a great security experience for all.

 

Part of your duties will cover various security operations, providing both great developments personally, and accountabilities as a site security manager.  Whilst you may have varied experience and skills within security operations, this role will look to further develop you across various security disciplines as part of your responsibilities e.g. cyber security, physical security, awareness briefings, risk, incident management, audit and compliance.  

What you will be doing

  • Fulfilling the role of Site Security Manager, being the first point of contact for any security matter.
  • Meet / greet visitors and ensure hosts are aware of their responsibilities for escorting.  You will continue to oversee the management of this, adding to that visitor experience whilst managing security postures.
  • Provide escorting duties, as required.
  • Managing physical security systems, including access control, badge management and alarms.
  • Support local security communications, briefings, education and awareness training.
  • Triaging security incidents as part of the wider security team, based on location, skills and remediations.
  • Support the need for asset management compliance, controlling how assets come in to and out of, our facility.  Additionally support any local audit requirements for assets.
  • Oversee joiner, leaver and project movement changes through physical security measures, such as access management.
  • Undertake security audits and manage registers as directed.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Willing to be flexible under rota arrangements to ensure we succeed 07:00 – 19:00 Monday to Friday.
  • Previous experience in security operations or physical security management is desirable.
  • Previous experience in security risk, assurance or audit is desirable
