What you’ll be doing

  • Executes the implementation of high-level designs for stable network and infrastructure environments that meet the needs of BT, are shared with partners, and are compliant with current
  • security, privacy, and audit requirements
  • Maintains IT Infrastructure components, tools or locations and ensures the creation of designs on services (e.g., network, security, storage, compute), produced in line with design
  • standards, with minimal guidance
  • Provides technical knowledge and expertise where needed to support managers, principals or technical experts to resolve issues
  • Collaborates with application development, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and cyber security teams to develop and implement an effective product roadmap
  • Executes the automation and orchestration capabilities across the environment and establishes process and procedures that promote efficiency, solving a range of day-to-day user

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Infrastructure Architecture/Design - Ensures the technical systems and infrastructure are architected, designed and documented to support business requirements. 
  • Security - Protects information and information systems against unauthorised access or modification of information. 
  • Data Centre Infrastructure - Manages and maintains the core physical or hardware-based resources and components that comprise a data centre. 
  • IT Infrastructure - Plans, designs, delivers and controls information technology infrastructure. 
  • Programming/Scripting - Applies a computer language to communicate with computers using a set of instructions and to automate the execution of tasks. 
  • Cloud Computing - Uses a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. 
  • Agile Methodologies - Manages projects by dividing tasks into short phases of work (known as sprints) and frequently reassess and adapt plans. 
  • Incident Management - Ensures that any incidents affecting processes and performances of services or systems are managed appropriately to mitigate risk and minimise disruption. 

Desirable Skills / Experience
