Role Purpose
This technical sales role is responsible for driving global sales of BT’s Digital Workplace portfolio. The role focuses on proactively engaging with customers, effectively positioning the portfolio,and applying strong listening skills to understand customer requirements. These needs are translated into tailored, portfolio-based solutions across the full customer lifecycle.
The role plays a key part in progressing opportunities to closure by shaping solution design, configuration, and commercial structures. It is focused on generating new business and driving sustainable growth through the application of expert knowledge across technical, commercial, and procedural dimensions, ensuring long-term alignment with customer needs.
Working closely with account owners and customers, the role provides specialist sales and portfolio expertise to support demand generation and ensure the development of compelling, customer-centric propositions.
In addition, the role involves continuously building knowledge of BT Business products and capabilities, and applying this expertise to proactively deliver scalable, repeatable solutions. These solutions primarily encompass Voice, Contact, and Collaboration services, aligned with the strategic needs of customers.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with and proactively drive account teams (field and inside sales) to generate and develop customer demand.

Partner with account teams to lead the identification, qualification, and development of opportunities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of Salesforce data.

Develop and execute targeted sales campaign plans in collaboration with Account Managers and Directors for each customer.

Expand and deepen opportunities where appropriate to maximise value for BT International.

Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support lead generation and successful deal closure.

Develop a deep understanding of customer strategy and priorities, acting as a subject matter expert in BT’s pricing, design, and ordering processes, ensuring full compliance and delivery excellence.

Understand and align with both customer and BT decision-making criteria, ensuring proposals meet the requirements of all stakeholders.

Develop high-quality, cohesive, and compelling sales proposals and presentations by integrating all solution components and lead the positioning and delivery of these propositions to customers.

Maintain expert knowledge of the BT International portfolio and a strong awareness of competitor offerings. Capture and share market insights with the Portfolio team to inform strategic roadmap development and maintain competitiveness.

Collaborate with Sales Engineers and BT product teams to define and deliver robust technical and commercial strategies for customer proposals.

Provide value-added engagement on key accounts throughout the full lifecycle—from pre-deal to renewal—including:

Ensuring customers optimise deployed solutions and achieve their business objectives.

Proactively monitoring and validating return on investment.

Leading regular (e.g. quarterly) business reviews to keep stakeholders informed and identify potential risks or opportunities.
