In today’s dynamic business landscape, informed decision making is crucial for success of the company. As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between finance and business operations, acting as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to various units. Your contribution will directly impact the company’s financial health and propel its growth trajectory.

This role will provide support and challenge business operational owners within Corporate Units to achieve their strategic plans. The Finance Business Partner will act as a key interface between Finance and Operational leads units by developing and maintaining accurate knowledge and understanding of the cost and efficiency drivers within the unit.

Apart from ensuring accuracy of the financial, update monthly forecasts and annual budget (MTP), this role will translate complex financial information into actionable insights, empowering business leaders to make data driven decision that drives efficiencies and achieve ambitious goals. Finance Business Partner’s financial expertise will be instrumental in evaluating business cases, identifying cost saving opportunities and optimising resource allocation.

This role offers dynamic and challenging environment where you will constantly expand your knowledge base, develop your analytical skills, and stay up to date with latest financial and commercial trends.

What you’ll be doing

  • Act as Financial Advisor for the unit. Own, drive and governs the unit financial strategy.
  • Contribute and partner towards the unit finance planning by providing financial insight and challenge them to drive the better results for the unit
  • Own and Drive unit financial targets and helped in providing the mitigation plan to ensure the MTP numbers are met.
  • Own and drive the stakeholder engagement/relationship with Exco members, Operational Leads, CU Finance and Transformation leads.
  • Accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting which helps the business in the effective decision making.
  • Identifying risk & opportunities and collaborate with teams to underpin the gap.
  • Ensure all the efficiency plans are being fully underpinned and updated in plan view reporting tool in collaboration with Transformation teams.
  • Monthly tracking/reporting of efficiency plan to Transformation team and in case of adverse position provide a mitigation to underpin it.
  • Evaluate the Investment/Business cases, provide the financial sign offs.
  • Monthly reporting of all the Business cases for the associated spend/Benefits (including capex, specifics) along with comparison with original business case.
  • Part of decision-making process for new contracts sign off’s, contract renewal, PO sign off’s.
  • Coach and guide the wider team members.

Experience and Skiils

Stakeholder

  • Ability to engage, guide, challenge, and influence Finance and CU stakeholders wherever appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate and influence

Commercial Acumen

  • Provide financial insight to enable the effective decision- making
  • Drive and implement cost savings opportunities for the unit.
  • Drive financial targets for units, provide the mitigation plan to underpin the gap

Finance

  • Good understanding of BT, CU financial processes, including MTP build, efficiency targets and benefit realisation
  • Understanding of TLR/TLC processes within CU.

Articulation and Presentation skills

  • Ability to Articulate the financial result
  • Analytical mindset to provide financial insight along with variance analysis 
  • Effective presentation and facilitation skills

 

Transformation/Business Cases 

  • Ability to drive the transformation plan and tracking of associated benefits and costs
  • Financial modelling for the business cases and come out suggestion to take it forward or not.

 

Skills You'll Need

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills to present financial analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Good system knowledge and Understanding of BT systems ( SAP, SAC, AFO, VDT)
