About the role

We’re seeking a dynamic Procurement Manager to join our Data Solutions procurement team which covers networking products and services with managed spend of over £500m per annum. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive innovation, manage supplier relationships, and ensure our business, and those of our customers, remain at the cutting-edge of networking solutions. Your influence and impact will span some BT’s most strategic suppliers while supporting our biggest global customers, giving you an end-to-end view and stake in how the business really works.

What you’ll be doing

As the Procurement Manager for Data Solutions, you will:

  • Support and execute category strategies for networking products and services, aligned with business goals and risk management priorities.
  • Run sourcing initiatives including RFPs, negotiations, and contract management for assigned Data Solutions vendors and requirements.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across Sales, Risk, Legal, and Finance to understand needs and deliver value.
  • Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company keeps up with innovation and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, global procurement standards, and external regulations.
  • Champion sustainability and diversity in the supply base, aligning with our strong corporate ESG goals.
  • Support risk assessments and contribute to incident response planning from a supplier perspective.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Procurement and strategic sourcing experience: Experience working within a procurement function, with strong sourcing skills and the ability to manage sourcing activity from initial requirements through to supplier selection, negotiation and contract management.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation: Strong commercial awareness with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals, identify opportunities to deliver value and lead effective commercial negotiations.
  • Stakeholder management and communication: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Risk, Legal and Finance and deliver through high-performing teams.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • IT or networking procurement experience: Previous experience procuring IT or networking products and services within a complex organisation.
  • Understanding of networking technologies: Knowledge of networking technologies, market dynamics and the relevant vendor landscape, with an awareness of emerging industry developments.
  • Contracting, risk management and supplier governance: Experience supporting contract negotiations, managing supplier risk and maintaining effective supplier governance arrangements.
  • Experience working in a global matrixed environment: The ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with global teams within a fast-paced, matrixed organisation.
  • Relevant professional qualifications: A relevant professional qualification, such as CIPS, CISSP or a similar accreditation, would be beneficial.
