Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

About the role

 

Impact of the role: This role provides critical on-site IT support for Cheltenham-based colleagues and corporate services, ensuring users remain productive through the timely resolution of incidents, requests and technical issues. The role supports service availability, business continuity and operational efficiency by providing local hands-on support that cannot always be delivered remotely.

This job role is based in Cheltenham. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Mon-Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance. 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Provide on-site IT support for colleagues and corporate services based in Cheltenham.
  • Resolve incidents and service requests in line with agreed service levels.
  • Support end-user devices, workplace technology, and local IT infrastructure.
  • Assist with hardware deployment, replacement, and asset management activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating where appropriate.

Essential

  • Experience providing IT support in an enterprise or corporate environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across end-user devices and workplace technology.
  • Experience supporting Windows-based desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft applications and services (Office Suite, SCCM).

 

Desirable

  • Experience supporting users within secure or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and local infrastructure support.
  • Experience with asset management and hardware deployment activities.
  • Familiarity with Jira Service Desk or similar IT service management tools.
