As a Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of sales agents to achieve and exceed their targets. You will manage day-to-day team performance, provide coaching and development, and ensure alignment with business goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to drive consistency in sales execution, and a focus on building a high-performing, motivated team within a dynamic and evolving sales environment.

 

You will lead a brand new sales teams, consisting of up to 15 sales professionals. The team operates in a fast-paced, supportive environment focused on delivering exceptional sales results across BT’s full product portfolio. You'll collaborate with coaches, specialists, and senior leaders to drive performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement and success. You will play a key role in shaping a dynamic and evolving team culture, with strong support and resources to help you succeed. 

Location and Office Days

This role is based in our Birmingham office. In the initial four to six months of taking on this role, you'll need to be able to attend the office five days per week. This will also be expected of your team members. This is so that you're in close proximity to the coaching, sales specialist and supporting resources built around this function as you get up to speed. This requirement will then drop down to three days per week in the office.

What you’ll be doing

•    Lead and motivate a team of sales agents to achieve and exceed sales targets.
•    Drive consistent performance through coaching, training, and development of team members.
•    Manage day-to-day team operations, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
•    Foster a positive and dynamic team culture focused on success and continuous improvement.
•    Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to align sales strategies and goals.
•    Utilize data and CRM tools to analyse team performance and implement actionable improvements.
•    Handle difficult conversations and manage team challenges with firmness and fairness.
•    Oversee recruitment and onboarding of new team members, shaping the team’s growth and capabilities.

Essential Skills / Experience

•    Proven successful experience in leading and managing teams.
•    People leadership skills, including coaching and driving team performance.
•    Can demonstrate strong track record of sales success
•    Ability to communicate and manage up & down effectively (team members & stakeholders).
•    You can handle difficult conversations and maintain team motivation.

Desirable Skills / Experience

•    Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and data analysis to inform decisions.
•    Telecommunications background
•    Familiar with selling connectivity and mobile portfolios.
