About the role
- This Specialist role is accountable for designing and leading technical solutions that deliver clear business value. As a Technical Lead, the role holder will translate Network Operations Centre (NOC) requirements into scalable, efficient, and resilient solutions aligned to complex business functions.
- Operating within the Networks and Cloud domain, the role involves designing and delivering Monitoring and Assurance solutions for the Fixed Networks and Network Cloud Programme, ensuring strong observability and operational effectiveness.
- The role holder will lead the implementation of advanced capabilities such as closed loop auto remediation across data center and cloud environments (e.g., OpenStack or similar VIMs), working with architectures based on leaf and spine networks and WAN underlay, and leveraging rich telemetry from applications, SDN, and infrastructure.
- They will also mentor teams and ensure solutions are robust, supportable, and aligned with long term platform strategy.
What you’ll be doing
- Implement and evolve the architectural roadmap for Assurance domain, covering Incident, Change and Problem Management.
- Define and drive transformation of IT, Data Center, and Network Cloud applications across Service and Problem Management.
- Design and deliver cloud-ready, microservices-based applications using technologies such as Java, Spring boot, and modern web frameworks.
- Architect, engineer, and maintain solutions within Network Management, OSS, and FCAPS domains.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of OSS solutions, including requirements, platform selection, architecture, development, testing, and deployment.
- Lead engineering initiatives to ensure the Network Cloud platform is secure, scalable, and easily consumable by downstream products and services.
- Define, implement, and ensure adherence to TMF-aligned standardized APIs for consistent integration and interoperability across systems.
- Define and implement APIs, governance controls, and security compliance standards for platform consumption.
- Collaborate with product owners to prioritize and deliver features aligned with business demand, defects, and industry trends.
- Drive adoption of cloud technologies, including standardization, automation, and reuse across OSS platforms.
- Design and implement monitoring, administration tools, and DevSecOps/CI-CD pipelines for cloud-native environments.
- Work closely with cross-domain teams to define solution roadmaps and sprint scope, ensuring faster business outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and third-party partners to support successful delivery solutions.
- Promote Agile and SRE practices, embedding strong engineering standards and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing effective and sustainable solutions.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Technical Expertise:
Proven subject matter expertise with the ability to drive collaboration and engineering excellence. Recognized for strong technical contributions and thought leadership within the organization and industry. - Mandatory Skills: Java (OpenJDK 21), J2EE, REST & SOAP Web Services, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, SQL/NoSQL databases, Kafka, WebLogic, Flyway, Swagger, and Kubernetes.
- Stakeholder Management:
Strong ability to build and manage relationships across internal teams, customers, and external forums. Effectively translates business needs into technical solutions and ensures alignment through design assurance. - Strategic & Enterprise Thinking:
Ability to define and articulate a clear technical vision and roadmap, simplifying complex concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Change Management:
Demonstrated capability to lead and sustain large-scale, complex transformations, driving adoption and ensuring long-term success. - Process Design & Documentation:
Expertise in designing, structuring, and documenting end-to-end processes with clarity and precision, ensuring alignment with interconnected systems and workflows.
