About the role

This Software Engineer Professional in Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) space focuses on developing, designing, managing, delivering secure, stable, and resilient digital services through proactive operations, application support, automation, observability, and security governance.

What you’ll be doing

•    Supports in the execution of technical decisions, technology choices and architecture for a wide range of high-performance products, capabilities, and platforms, effectively balancing short-term impact with long-term transformation.
•    Supports the design and development of software solutions in accordance with the wider architecture and security standards.
•    Supports with the designs of technical specifications and development of software solutions of smaller and /or less complex initiatives in partnership with team, contributing towards the quality of delivery.
•    Establish the product vision and produce relevant objectives and key results for the development squads.
•    Improving service reliability and stability across critical applications and platforms.
•    Strengthening operational resilience through proactive monitoring and incident management.
•    Enhancing security posture through SecOps practices, vulnerability management, and governance.
•    Driving automation and operational efficiency across ITSM and application support processes.
•    Supporting digital transformation and application modernisation initiatives.
•    Providing clear operational visibility through dashboards, monitoring, and reporting.
•    Supports the delivery of an ambitious and compelling technical roadmap to meet the needs of the business, engineering team, and partner teams.
•    May support product and operational excellence initiatives, assisting with implementing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
•    Actively seek feedback from our customers to help unlock value and remove issues in our product suite.
•    Actively engage with the security and compliance teams to ensure what we deliver is fit for purpose.
•    Collaborating with other product leaders to contribute to company-wide best practices and standards.
•    Interact with cross-functional teams to understand the business requirements and convert them into effective solutions. 
•    Ensure the continued implementation of a test first approach, and implement the clean architecture principles.
•    Enables prioritisation of key features with stakeholders using a range of techniques to establish value and business benefit

Essential Skills / Experience

Reliability & Operations
•    Ensure 24×7 reliability, availability, and performance of critical digital services and applications.
•    Monitor system health and proactively detect and prevent service disruptions.
•    Build and operate secure, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems.
•    Improve system scalability, stability, and overall service health.
IT Service Management (ITSM)
•    Work extensively with ServiceNow modules, including: 
o    Incident Management
o    Change Management
o    Service Request Management
•    Improve operational processes and workflows through automation and standardisation.
•    Support service governance and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Application Development & Support
•    Collaborate with engineering teams to improve application reliability and supportability.
•    Develop and maintain automation scripts and operational tooling using Python, GoLang, .NET, Maria DB, React JS and Postgres.
•    Support application modernisation initiatives and improve maintainability of services.
•    Build integrations and APIs to streamline operational workflows.
DevOps & Automation
•    Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment reliability and release efficiency.
•    Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management practices.
•    Reduce manual operational effort through automation and orchestration.
•    Support GitOps and DevOps best practices across engineering teams.
Observability & Monitoring
•    Implement monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as Dynatrace, OpenSearch, and Grafana.
•    Build dashboards and alerts for proactive issue detection and operational visibility.
•    Improve logging, metrics, and tracing capabilities across applications and services.
Security Operations (SecOps)
•    Implement and enforce security governance aligned with enterprise security standards and policies.
•    Lead end-to-end vulnerability management, including: 
o    Vulnerability identification
o    Prioritisation
o    Remediation tracking
o    Governance reporting
•    Implement secure configurations, access controls, and RBAC practices.
•    Support audit and compliance requirements.
Disaster Recovery & Resilience
•    Ensure Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness and resilience planning.
•    Participate in DR exercises and resilience testing.
•    Implement failover and recovery mechanisms for critical services.
Infrastructure & Platforms
•    Basic understanding of: 
o    Linux and Windows administration
o    Databases (SQL)
o    Networking concepts
o    Cloud platforms and architectures

Desirable Skills / Experience

•    Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
•    Exposure to containerisation technologies and container security.
•    Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
•    Knowledge of DevSecOps practices.
•    Experience implementing self-healing and operational automation solutions.
•    Understanding of application modernisation and cloud-native architectures.
