About the role

The Cloud Engineering Specialist independently implements core infrastructure and security services in Amazon Web Services to deliver highly available and scalable services, automating time intensive processes whilst and meeting security and compliance objectives in all aspects of the secure cloud ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and maintain platform architecture for microservice-based integration services (Java/Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Define and implement infrastructure patterns using IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm) for repeatable, auditable deployments.
• Drive resiliency improvements — circuit breakers, retry patterns, failover strategies, chaos engineering, and disaster recovery design.
• Own performance engineering — profiling, load testing, bottleneck identification, and capacity planning across the platform.
• Implement and govern DevSecOps pipelines — SAST, SCA, secrets scanning, SBOM generation, and vulnerability remediation workflows.
• Perform deep debugging and root cause analysis across distributed systems using log analytics (ELK, CloudWatch, Splunk), tracing (Jaeger, X-Ray), and metrics (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Build automation tooling for deployment, scaling, monitoring, and incident response.
• Apply AI/ML for operational intelligence — anomaly detection, predictive alerting, log pattern classification, and auto-remediation.
• Collaborate with architecture teams on system design reviews, ADRs, and technical governance.
• Identify and develop trusted adviser relationships with relevant stakeholders, management sponsors, and senior executives.

• AWS (EKS, ECS, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM)
• Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, ArgoCD
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Java/Spring Boot or Python (for platform tooling and automation)
• CI/CD (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• DevSecOps (SAST, SCA, secrets management, SBOM, supply chain security)
• Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, distributed tracing)
• Performance engineering (JMeter, Gatling, profiling, capacity planning)
• Log analytics and debugging across distributed microservices

Desirable Skills / Experience

• AI/ML for operations (anomaly detection, log classification, predictive alerting)
• LLM/GenAI integration (Bedrock, Ollama, RAG patterns)
• Chaos engineering (Litmus, Gremlin) 
• mesh (Istio, Envoy)
• Event-driven architecture (RabbitMQ, Kafka, EventBridge)
• Agentic frameworks and AI-driven automation.
