AI Interview: Due to high number of applications, we're using an AI platform to assist with screening applications. This will involve a 20-25 mins interview via a chat platform, after which you will immediately receive feedback based on your responses. All applications will be reviewed by a recruiter, and you'll be informed whether or not you've been progressed to the next stage.
About the role
This is a great opportunity to take your first meaningful step into a commercial sales career, joining a busy Manchester-based Wholesale team an Account Executive supporting some of our most valuable customer accounts.
Rather than owning a fixed portfolio from day one, you’ll work across the wider account team, supporting larger accounts while taking ownership of smaller sales opportunities and helping the team deliver against shared commercial targets. You’ll gain exposure to customers and colleagues across product, commercial and other areas of the business, giving you a broad understanding of how complex accounts operate.
You don’t need to arrive with years of B2B sales or telecoms experience. What matters is how you communicate, build relationships, organise yourself and respond when the answer is initially “no”. You’ll have experienced account managers around you while building the confidence and commercial skills to increasingly take ownership for yourself.
What you’ll be doing
- Support account managers across a portfolio of significant Wholesale customer accounts, keeping priorities, actions and customer commitments moving.
- Manage smaller sales opportunities within larger accounts, developing your commercial judgement with support from experienced colleagues.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams, communicating confidently with stakeholders at different levels.
- Coordinate customer onboarding, novations, quotations and other account activity accurately and on time.
- Drive actions across product, commercial and operational teams, following through until issues and customer requests are resolved.
- Challenge constructively when you encounter barriers, finding practical ways to turn problems into positive outcomes.
- Contribute to shared revenue, profit and customer satisfaction objectives across the account team.
- Understand customer priorities and business drivers, helping identify opportunities where our products and services can add value.
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, forecast and activity information in Salesforce.
- Support customer meetings, presentations, account reviews and communications, ensuring colleagues have the information they need.
- Prioritise competing requests in a fast-moving environment and increasingly take ownership for progressing work independently.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Some experience in sales, account management or business development.
- A proactive, self-starting approach, with the confidence to find answers and move work forward without needing constant direction.
- Effective organisation and prioritisation skills, particularly when managing multiple requests and deadlines.
- Resilience and persistence, including the ability to handle challenge or pushback and keep working towards a positive outcome.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across different functions and stakeholder groups.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Exposure to B2B sales, account management or a target-led customer environment.
- An understanding of the UK telecommunications or Wholesale marketplace.
- Some knowledge of fixed connectivity, communications or related products and services.
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.
- Familiarity with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
