Whether you focus on future innovation, our strategy, customer security or new products, tools and systems, this summer placement offers endless opportunities to develop your technical capabilities. No matter what project you work on, we’ll help you work on your personal and commercial skills too. So when valuable opportunities arise you'll be able to spot them, and talk our customers through them in a way that's easy to understand.
- Business unit: BT Business
- Location: Birmingham and Manchester
- Duration: 10 weeks (June-Aug)
- Requirements: You should be in the penultimate year of a relevant STEM degree and on track for a 2:2
First, we'll ask you to tell us a bit about yourself. Just some basic information about your qualifications and so on. This stage of the process will take you around 20 minutes to complete, and we will ask for you to upload your right to work and qualification documents, so have those on hand ready!
If you think you might need support during the application process, you can let us know at this point too, and we'll be happy to make any reasonable adjustments.
For the second stage, you’ll sit an untimed online assessment which has been designed to understand your potential and approach to learning and working.
Part of this will require text responses to 5 different scenario-based and experience-based questions. You will answer the questions by typing your responses, and can amend your answers before submitted. As there are no time limits, you can make sure you are happy with your answers before pressing submit.
This assessment will also consist of 1 video-based question where you will need to record yourself. This will be focused around asking you situational and motivational questions.
You will have a total of 5 days to complete this assessment, and we expect it to take a total of 30 minutes/hours to complete.
Depending on the type of role that you’ve applied for will determine what the final application stage looks like.
For all office-based roles, you will complete an assessment event at the location you've applied to. This is likely to include a group discussion, a competency-based interview and depending on the role, a technical test.
For field-based apprenticeships i.e. Customer Support Engineers, you will complete a face-to-face or a virtual competency-based interview
We aim to let you know whether you have been successful following the final stage of the process within 2 weeks. All applicants will be given comprehensive feedback at this stage.
