Responsibilities
- As a Kafka Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for building a data integration platform to support engineering teams who are scaling up data integration within BT
- As part of your role, you will collaborate with Software Engineers, Data Engineers and operational teams (ITOps, CloudOps, AppOps, SecOps) to drive this initiative forward
- Your technical proficiency includes Kafka architecture, administration & developer experience, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and experience in one or more multi-platform environments(On Prem, Cloud or Containers)
- Provide expertise and hands on experience working on Kafka connect using schema registry in a very high volume environment
- Provide expertise in Kafka brokers, zookeepers, KSQL, KStream and Kafka Control center
- Provide expertise and hands on experience working on Converters (Avro/Json) and Kafka connectors,custom connectors using the Kafka core concepts and API
- Building engineering tooling to streamline workflows for data integration and testing
Skillset/Work Experience Required:
- 5 + years of demonstrated experience in Apache Kafka/Confluent Kafka platform and application integration technologies in an enterprise environment
- Mandatory hands on experience in Streaming platform, Kafka, Kafka streams, KSQL, Schema registry
- Mandatory experience leading system technology transformations(preferably Data integration)
- Be well accustomed to handling a variety of source and target applications, systems, and platforms including: Oracle DBMS, MySQL, Netezza, Oracle Goldengate, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Google Cloud, AWS Cloud, Hadoop, SAP, SAS & Mainframes.
- Preferred experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace
- Preffered hands on experience with strong Java/J2EE, Spring, skills
- Good to have experince on container archestration platforms like Kubernetes,Docker swarm
- Confluent Kafka admin and developer certification is preferred
