About this role
We have around 1.2 million customers and serve over half the FTSE 350. Our customers range from big household names, government departments, and public service organisations right through to small businesses and new start-ups. We cover both the communications and IT services markets. Overall, we’re focused on four main product markets: Fixed Voice; Mobility; Fibre and Connectivity; Network IT services provided over the biggest UK network in both fixed and mobile communications.
Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) is a key sales channel for BT, and an exciting segment in Enterprise, putting focus on small and medium business customers.
Our purpose in SME is to be the engine for growth for UK small businesses, ensuring they have brilliant solutions to help their businesses thrive, therefore a hunger to learn will be key in this role, as well as a desire to try new things to help customers engage readily with BT.
As an Inside Sales Advisor, you’ll be responsible for developing and growing business with a portfolio of SME customers. Through building successful and sustainable relationships with key customer contacts, the Inside Sales Advisors will achieve (exceed!) targets.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you will be able to showcase your commercial awareness, identify a new range of opportunities for your customers, and develop great working relationships with stakeholders, sharing knowledge and collaborating. The best part is that we’ll help you develop so that you can work professionally and independently, taking responsibility and initiative as appropriate.

About the apprenticeship
This apprenticeship will 18 months and 20% of your working hours will be dedicated to learning and studying. At the end of your hard work, you will gain a level 4 qualification in Business2Business Sales from one of our training partners. As an apprentice, you will study for a nationally recognised qualification as you gain hands on experience in our industry. After successful completion of this apprenticeship, you could kick start a successful career as a sales professional and receive your membership with the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP).
Entry Requirements
You’ll need to achieve five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English Language & Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.
