Why this job matters

This is an exciting opportunity and a high profile role in BT. This role will facilitate the closure of our copper voice product and will support our vulnerable customers. 

In this role, you will be working on our Media Gateway platform, including capacity, network elements and operational responsibilities. 

You will also ensure service is maintained across the platform.  In addition, you will make operational decisions that align with overall Networks transformation, and delivery strategy. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Supports the delivery of routine daily activities and is accountable for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all network infrastructure components. 
  • Assists the implementation of enhanced network technology that aligns to customers’ strategic direction for enterprise and remote site connectivity. 
  • Follows standards for network infrastructure, including wireless, LAN and SD-WAN networks and connectivity. 
  • Executes engineering efforts to ensue currency and supportability of networking technology. 
  • Collates data, reports and information supporting technology lifecycle planning, including contributing to the development of the technology roadmaps and Network Health Assessments. 
  • Undertakes activities that contribute to the implementation of core and cloud infrastructure security to manage risks and exposure. 
  • Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within Network Engineering.
