The role is responsible for providing effective support for projects and operational tasks, handling all relevant issues with minimal guidance from the manager. The individual leads a team of network engineers to support the development of network infrastructure, technology, systems, and information strategies, as well as the evolution of related plans. The position contributes to achieving business objectives, solving business challenges, and driving success by applying industry best practices and technical expertise. This is achieved through the definition of high-level solutions for projects and the development of operational processes and procedures.

The role holder should leverage the expertise of relevant BT-wide professional communities to fulfill these responsibilities, ensuring that knowledge sharing extends beyond the functional boundaries of the role.
 

The Network Engineering Professional supports the delivery of engineering activities that contributes client technical requirements, deploying optimal networking and connectivity solutions that enable clients and the enterprise to achieve their operational and business goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

Govern the contractual SLA and BT Service Assurance KPI’s for Netco Model office like FCR (First Contract Resolution ) and MTTR (Mean Time to repair), NPS
Provide analytical and innovative input to projects/operational support tasks as well as support negotiations. 
Lead on a specific deliverable of a small/medium scale project or implement smaller less complex projects to achieve required business benefits and manage budget, timescales and quality.
Identification of underlying problems and driving through problem management to resolution (PM)
Assist transformation strategy for a network or technology discipline in own area of expertise
Participate in and contribute to BT wide professional community activities where applicable e.g. knowledge sharing, best practice within BT and external industry. 
Proactively raise improvement opportunities, and own small, incremental bugs to completion. Performing enhanced diagnostics on standard products for complex issues as well as for products that demand specific technical knowledge.
Delivere trainings to SSREs and build active coaching plans with a vision to upskill SSREs.

Qualifications:
    CCNP/CCIE(similar level of knowledge) mandatory.
    SDWAN Fortigate,VMware,Cisco(Viptela),Prisma & Agile Connect(Nokia Nuage) etc.
    ITIL Foundation highly desirable

Must have advanced skills and experience with most of the following::
    At least 7-8 years of relevant experience 
    Strong IP / Routing Fundamentals: BGP, OSPF,EIGRP etc
    WAN Technologies: SDWAN, VPN, QOS, MPLS, VoIP, DMVPN & IPSEC
    Strong Layer2/Ethernet Fundamentals: VLANs, Trunking, Spanning Tree, Port-Channels-Redundant connectivity and infrastructure
    Good Knowledge of Cloude technologies like AWS, Azure, google will be preferred. 
    Solution designing and multi-layer troubleshooting
    Experience with business continuity, high availability and disaster recovery
    Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
    Technical knowledge for WLAN products and services including intermediate level knowledge of ISE.
    Expert level Technical understanding of architecture and design flows
    Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
    Good team player, willing to share knowledge with the team
    Basic knowledge of security flow and firewalls in the network.
    Experience in operation of end to end customer solutions
    Highly effective communicator (written & verbal)
    Ability to organize and participate in international conference calls and effectively discuss technical issues.
