The Software Engineering Manager coordinates the execution of the engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT's commercial strategy through cross functional business partnering and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence.

What you’ll be doing

1. Technical Leadership:

• Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of CyberArk solutions, including Core PAS, PSM, CPM, PVWA, and EPM modules. Executes the implementation of the Cyber Security strategy, developing and maintaining a current road map including new features and subservices required to meet commercial demand as well as changes to the security landscape, the sector and technologies.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and primary escalation point for CyberArk-related issues. Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in cyber security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PAM solutions with enterprise systems (e.g., AD, LDAP, SIEM, and cloud platforms.
• Manage the implementation of information and cyber security controls and change initiatives across BT Group. Runs analysis to the development of the Business Continuity Management Programme and Disaster Recovery Plan.
• Mentor other cyber security professionals, helping to improve the team's abilities by acting as a technical resource.
• Follows product compliance with applicable security standards, group policies and industry best practices.

2. Operations & Maintenance:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CyberArk infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Oversee & Plan regular patch management, version upgrades, and system health checks. Implement the deployment, integration and configuration of new security solutions and enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures.
• Manage backup, restoration, and disaster recovery processes for PAM components.
• Monitor system logs, performance metrics, and incident alerts to maintain a secure and reliable PAM environment.

3. Account Management:
• Ensure the seamless onboarding and lifecycle management of privileged accounts across systems.
• Manage vault policies, credential rotation schedules, and access control settings.
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits of privileged accounts to ensure compliance with security policies.

4. Security Operations:
• Respond to and resolve incidents related to privileged access and CyberArk systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with security teams to enhance PAM processes and address audit findings.

5. Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest CyberArk features, security patches, and industry best practices.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to improve efficiency.
• Propose and implement enhancements to PAM processes and system configurations.

6. Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:
• Train and mentor team members on CyberArk tools, processes, and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and process guidelines.
• Work closely with compliance and audit teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
 

Skills Required


• Expertise in CyberArk Core PAS components (EPV, PSM, CPM, PVWA).
• Experience in CyberArk patching, upgrades, and integrations (APIs, plugins, and cloud environments).
• Strong scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or equivalent) for automation and reporting.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and ITIL-based service management frameworks.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
