Testing Concepts: Understands non-functional testing including: performance, resilience, usability, security penetration. Experienced in implementing a number of these. Aware of the tools that available to support these kinds of testing. Understands end-to-end and multi-system testing issues and techniques

The skills you’ll need
Stakeholder Management: Interacts with customers and senior internal stakeholders including project and programme managers to gather insight and feedback to inform testing requirements and approach.
Commercial & Risk Awareness: Able to undertake ongoing analysis of test progress against plan to identify risks to and issues with successful test completion; addresses those risks and issues as appropriate seeking guidance within the test unit when required
Problem Solving: Ability to solve complex defect triage / diagnostic problems which may require detailed input from several teams including 3rd parties. Solve day to day problems to keep test team on track including environment, blocking defect Triage if extensive delay. Solve complex environment issues including contention, config management
Change Management: Managing change within own discrete team and sharing experience and approach with others. Adapting plans and test approach to accommodate changing business requirements in direct area
Tech Savvy: Partners with the business and other organisations to develop understanding of new technologies and their use.
Be Agile: Uses collaborative or agile test and learn approaches, contributing to projects and programmes as a subject matter expert or content owner
Use Data Analytics: Uses complex data analysis to show underlying principles, process or system improvements.

QA Engineering Specialist will ensure that their team delivers testing to time, cost and quality targets.
QA Engineering Specialist is responsible for managing the effective test intelligence aspects of the Test Strategy. This will involve direct management of the Partners.
QA Engineering Specialist will need to manage both operational aspects of the Test Strategy & Intelligence of Quality Assurance.
Responsible for the Test Scope and also for ensuring that this scope is tested in an optimal way withing the delivery timescales.
This role is a pivotal role between Test and delivery teams, and this person shall have thorough product knowledge and good stakeholder engagement.
The role holder will also manage test transformation for the test intelligence area, and needs to conversant with test industry trends, industry knowledge, and always assessing the effectiveness of the QA & Testing and looking for continual improvement on how deliver high quality testing.
The role holder should leverage the experience of the relevant BT wide professional communities to discharge these responsibilities, thus ensuring knowledge sharing extends beyond the functional boundary of the role.
The role holder may also play a key part in the BT wide professional communities.
The purpose of the role is to improve the quality of testing being undertaken related to their specialism, by applying their knowledge of the specialism to the activities performed by the test organisation
What you’ll be doing
Coordinates a diverse team and creates the initial test schedule to deliver all aspects of testing to time, budget and quality targets, holding accountability for producing outlines of solutions and defining depth of testing required.
Monitors day to day activities to ensure all objectives are achieved, reviewing reports and statistics to unblock any issues.
Provides technical expertise within their area and shares knowledge with team to scope and deliver testing requirements.
The role is accountable for all test process related activities throughout the lifecycle for their domain, including test estimation across their defined area.
The role is responsible for management of test planning and execution, to achieve business milestones, and in particular to support ‘bug fix’ and retest cycles inside delivery cycles.
Accountable for the coaching & mentoring of test professionals, including line management of BT direct reports, Matrix BT Teams and Third party supplier teams.
The role is responsible for driving continuous improvement of their own team and the organisation health of their team.
Manage deliverables within the test budget allocated to them with the agreed measures and KPI’s, including resource management and work prioritisation
Maintains optimum test execution rates by expert scheduling of tests. Liaises with customers, vendors, project and programme management alike and reliably delivers results to meet expectations.
