Data Engineering Ab Initio Specialist

Why this job matters
The Ab Initio Specialist plays a key role in supporting the end-to-end delivery of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with roadmap, time, and budget. The role requires a mix of delivery management skills and Agile ways of working to coordinate across teams and drive measurable business outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
• Design, develop, and deploy data solutions using the AB Initio product suite.
• Architect end-to-end data pipelines to support various business requirements and use cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement data integration processes, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Optimize and tune data processes for performance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines, processes, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and integration.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data engineering and integration.
The skills you’ll need to succeed
• Utilize advanced AB Initio concepts such as dynamic subgraphs, web services, continuous flows, etc., to enhance data solutions.
• Possess working knowledge of tools like Data Catalog, Express>IT and Metadata Hub.
• Should be familiarized with concepts of Active Metadata and Data Fabric
Skills we would Prefer you to have
• Proven experience working with the AB Initio product suite, including proficiency in the following tools:
o Graphical Development Environment (GDE)
o Data Catalog
o Metadata Hub
o QueryIT
o ExpressIT
o Control Centre
• Familiarity with advanced AB Initio concepts such as dynamic subgraphs, web services, continuous flows, etc.
• Strong expertise in designing and developing data pipelines, data integration, and data warehousing solutions.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
• Experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in AB Initio or related technologies are preferred.
Required Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Ab Initio Product Suite & related technologies.
