Why this Role Matters

The Reporting Transformation and Delivery Team within BT Finance is set out to help the BT Finance community maximise the value that we gain from our investment in SAP. This new function will lead the reporting transformation and will enable the development of best-in-class reporting capability at BT. The team will lead the implementation of SAC Reporting including design, development and support of standardised SAC reports/dashbaords and models for Finance.

The focus of this role is to develop and support new SAC reporting templates and models in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

 

You will be responsible for:

•   Developing and Supporting new standardised SAC reporting stories/reports/dashboards and models in SAC that support month-end, quarter-end, year-end reporting processes for the Finance community enabling them access to pre-built standardised reports and dashboards for improved decision-making.

  • Working with stakeholders to ensure that the development of our new SAC stories/reports/dashboards and models meets their requirements and enables best in class reporting.

You are:

  • An experienced developer of SAC reporting stories/reports/dashboards, planning input templates, data actions and models
  • A commercially astute SAP advocate, comfortable working with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are supported by best in class SAC Reporting and planning templates and models

•    A technical specialist, who leverages their skills and experience to develop SAC Reporting capabilities that positively transform reporting processes

  • A keen leaner, with an appetite to continue to develop and grow your skill set

 

What you'll be doing

  • Working closely with the Reporting and Planning Design & Development Senior Manager, Managers and peer Analysts to deliver SAP reporting and planning templates and models in SAC that improve the level of reporting and planning capability across BT Finance
  • Implementing best in class development practises to deliver flexible and versatile solutions
  • Delivering Reporting capability development projects, reporting on progress, risks and issue resolution
  • Engaging with Group and Unit Finance stakeholders to ensure that new SAC developments meet their reporting capability requirements
  • Working closely with the BT Technology function to ensure appropriate support for new reports/dashboards and model development projects (e.g. requirements for changes in the underlying S4 database or BW Bex queries or BW data structures)
  • Effectively managing stakeholder relationships across Finance and Technology to support the delivery of SAC reporting projects
  • Establishing robust checking and validation processes for reporting capability development with a zero-tolerance approach to technical error
  • Maintaining a sufficient understanding of current performance trends across BT to ensure reporting capability developments support key commercial challenges
  • Development of training materials and delivery of demonstrations as required in preparation for deployment
  • Supporting the evolution of SAC planning capability across Finance through knowledge sharing and participation in super-user forums and communities

The Skills & Experience you need

  • Strong hands-on 4-5 years of experience in technical skills like SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), BW and AFO
  • Proficiency in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) including data modelling, story building, and dashboard creation.
  • Strong experience working of designing and building Analytical applications in SAC to support complex dashboards and reports required by the business
  • Strong understanding of SAC connectivity options (e.g., live data connections, import data connections).
  • Ability to write complex calculations and formulas within SAC to give user the best reporting and dashboarding experience aligned with the leading practice
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Expert understanding of SAC reporting capability development best practice
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical design
  • Ability to influence, helping stakeholders understand and navigate design decisions
  • Brilliant stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a zero-tolerance approach to technical error
  • Solution driven, innovative, pace-setting and focused on commercial impact
  • Nice to have: Finance qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
