The Software Engineering Professional supports the execution of the software engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT's commercial strategy through cross functional project and technical delivery and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop logic for alarm handling and alarm correlation.
- Develop custom adapters to collect network fault/performance data using SNMP/ Syslog / Telemetry.
- Build complex scripts/adapters using Python/Shell scripting.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and possess good problem-solving skills.
- Deliver solutions using Agile methodologies.
- Ability to do deep dive on technical areas and get the best outcome out of technically challenging situations.
- Manage concurrent application releases and deliver quality software releases on time.
- Drive strong engineering practices in the team.
- Ability to debug complex issues and provide the right solution.
Preferable
- Experience in Telecommunications Networks (Fixed, Mobile and Transmission), mainly OSS.
Skills required for the job
- Technical Expertise: Be a subject expert and drive shared learning and collaboration.
- Mandatory Skill set :- Java (Open JDK11), Python, Shell Scripting, REST based MicroServices, Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL Database, Kafka, WebLogic, Swagger and basic of K8’s, Configure dashboard reports using Grafana and ELK.
- Process design & documentation: The ability to describe, map and document down to the procedural detail complete processes on a structured way. The ability to organise and structure the process flow in synchronisation with the exchanges with other processes.
