Our hybrid working means in this role you are required to be in the office 3 days per week with the option of working from a place of your choice 2 days per week

 

Why this job matters
One of the primary objectives of the Group S&C team is to accelerate and enhance the delivery of the transformation goals.  
In support of this the objectives of the Group Transformation Planning team are to:
•    Secure commitment to the baseline roadmap for approach, milestones, timeline, dependencies, cost and benefit, quality and risk
•    Ensure transformation is fully funded (capex, opex and specifics) and provide oversight to investment decisions that impact the Group Transformation Portfolio
•    Ensure that actual or potential deviations from the baseline roadmap, benefits and scope are controlled
•    Optimise performance and contractual relationships with 3rd party suppliers that support transformation related activities and systems.
The role works closely with the Group Transformation Planning Director, Group colleagues and unit transformation leads to deliver the planning, scope control and stakeholder engagement necessary to drive successful delivery of Transformation. 
 

Key elements of the role include:
 

Planning 
•    Work with the Group Transformation Planning Director to build and maintain BT Group’s overall transformation roadmap linking product simplification, journey optimisation, strategic IT platform build, customer migrations, and decommissioning, working in collaboration with other members of the Group Transformation Planning team
•    Surface opportunities for prioritisation and sequencing of dependencies
•    Support the development and maintain the selected planning tool(s) in which the transformation roadmap will be held, ensuring the roadmap therein reflects the latest understanding of the units’ transformation plans
Engagement
•    Partner with and influence stakeholders at all levels to gain buy-in and establish accountability, and input to plans to ensure success
•    Deliver the change narrative, monitoring its necessary success in influencing behaviours
•    Act as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers / transformation leaders, using data-led insight and plans to support major business decisions on transformation and drive consistent messaging across the transformation
Leadership
•    Drive knowledge sharing on emerging trends and changes in transformation principles and practices
•    Identify obstacles to delivery of transformation objectives, using escalation paths where necessary

 

The skills you’ll need 
The ideal candidate will have had experience working within the transformation field within large – ideally international - FTSE 100 companies, or within professional services/consultancy

•    Programme or project planning skills, with the ability to identify necessary inputs, dependencies and risks 
•    Stakeholder influencing skills, ideally demonstrated in the setting of a matrix organisation
•    Ability to develop a plan with clear scope, measures and milestones 
•    High levels of resilience to engage positively in challenging situations
•    Intellectual curiosity to rapidly build a comprehensive understanding of the BT Group and its businesses and value drivers, and the sector and markets in which it operates
•    Skilled and inspiring communicator, capable of designing clear, compelling and engaging presentations
•    Outstanding interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in, and curiosity for, people – and the ability to engage and to build relationships both internally and externally at all levels     


The experience you’ll have
•    Support the build and delivery of roadmaps and integrated plans in organisation-wide cost transformation programmes  
•    Developing a stakeholder engagement plan in a large, matrixed organisation 
•    Good understanding of the technology and telco sectors
•    Experience of inputting into the financial analysis of transformation plans, including capex and opex allocations and timings
