Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

This job role is based in Manchester. Onsite (5 days). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. You will need to be eligible to obtain DV Clearance before starting this role. You will need to have lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Designing, deploying, configuring and hardening systems and hardware in accordance with defined policy, security and business requirements.
  • Provision the necessary consulting into customer and internal systems, which includes ‘on-premises’, ‘off-premises’ and cloud-based solutions, ensuring that industry best security practises are maintained throughout their life cycles.
  • Software & hardware vulnerability testing – You will be expected to identify, test and remediate vulnerabilities within both hardware and software.
  • Stakeholder management – You will actively liaise with all customer stakeholders, and maintain necessary relationships, from senior management through to engineering and supporting teams. This will be to articulate across both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Threat hunting & platform remediation – You will need to be able to locate, understand and develop IoCs (Indicators of Compromise) and using these IoCs analyse the estate to understand where the vulnerabilities lie; then subsequently develop remediation plans, including detailed instructions on how to mitigate identified vulnerabilities.

What we'd like to see on your CV

 

  • Recognised Industry Security Qualifications, ideally lending towards technical security e.g. CEH, CSTM, CSTL, OSCP etc., or formal education in cybersecurity.
  • Security engineering skills for on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Network and application vulnerability assessment, and security testing experience.
  • Good stakeholder management and Consultancy skills to deliver cyber security subject-matter expertise.
