Why this job matters
Our Global Secure Customers expect a high degree of security implementation within all goods and services provisioned by BT. This role leads a team of experienced technical security professionals who applies their skills through implementations, design reviews, in-life assurance testing and professional consulting. As part of BT Business, this team supports a positive contribution to revenues upwards to £250m per annum.
This job role can be based in Manchester, Cheltenham, London or Ipswich. Onsite (5 days office based &). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours. DV Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
What you’ll be doing
- Security Innovation: To lead and develop an innovation focused technical cyber security team, with defined career paths, succession planning, whilst delivering the highest level of technical security services. Seek ways to maintain and challenge the current Cyber Security posture across systems, networks and the Internet.
- Transformation: Drive a transformation agenda, supporting wider BT transformation strategies and local Chief Technology Office (CTO) activities, challenging and supporting customer ways of working and improving efficiencies and system implementations.
- Secure by Design: Lead a technical cyber security team that can support BT and government customers through commercial best security practices and augmented security expectations. Evolve local standards to maintain high-level design patterns and alignment.
- Establishing and maintaining key stakeholder communities across BT and government customers, maintaining security as an effective business enabler.
- Be the technical cyber security leader for this business unit. Coach, mentor, and establish a great awareness culture, both locally, and across colleagues, stakeholders and customers.

What we'd like to see on your CV
- Highly experienced and demonstrable track record in Cyber Security, Information Assurance and Security Risk Management, with a strong technical background and people management experience.
- Fully converse in security frameworks and can demonstrate a career record of accomplishment to support how experience has delivered security programmes and projects.
- Experience setting direction, leading and managing a technical security team(s).
- Ability to work in a process intensive and complex environment.
- Will have achieved certification as a CISSP or CISM, or equivalent industry standard.
