About the role

We're looking for an ambitious and tech-curious Communications Professional to join our Devices, Identities & Partnerships team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys writing and marketing and has a keen interest in technology. Working alongside experienced engineers and partner managers, you'll help turn complex technical information into clear, engaging documentation, reports and guidance.

You'll also play a key role in promoting the work of the Devices team across BT, creating and sharing compelling internal communications that showcase new launches, partner milestones and technical developments. As part of the role, you'll gain hands-on exposure to emerging technologies such as 5G and eSIM, while helping colleagues across the business understand and engage with the innovations shaping BT's mobile future.

What you’ll be doing

  • Promote the Devices team across the wider business: Create and share clear internal updates (e.g., briefings, release notes, and FAQs) that highlight upcoming launches, partner milestones, and key technical changes.
  • Support documentation: Assist Engineers, Designers and Partnership Managers with drafting and updating technical guides, including device configuration manuals and internal “how-to” guides for new hardware launches.
  • Learn the landscape: Gain a deep understanding of mobile standards (VoLTE, 5G SA, eSIM) by working closely with our device testing and certification teams.
  • Organise technical data: Maintain our internal documentation libraries (SharePoint, Engage), ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible for the wider team.
  • Partner coordination: Help prepare materials for meetings with our hardware partners (e.g., Apple, Samsung, Google)
  • Bridge the gap: Translate technical feedback from engineers into clear summaries for our commercial and product teams.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging content.
  • Good organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience creating content for internal communications channels such as intranets, newsletters, emails, or social platforms (can include internships, placements, university projects, or early career roles).

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Fast learner with a strong appetite to understand mobile technology and how hardware and networks interact (e.g., 5G, VoLTE, eSIM).
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confidence gathering information and translating complex topics into simple, engaging communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Experience using content management systems, intranets, SharePoint, and Confluence.
