Why this job matters

Network Test is a vital part of the delivery cycle between design and deployment into BT’s live platforms. 

Utilising BT’s world renowned Network Test Facility the team verify new products before launch and validate hardware/software upgrades that enhance BT’s core platforms. 

This role ensures that BT’s customers receive the best possible experience and services.  

What you’ll be doing

•    Technical Leadership of Network Test activities, delivering them as efficiently as possible to support the development and maintenance of the network platform and services.   
•    Adhere to all Test processes, for example; Project Tracker updates, Timesheets & Model environment best practices.   
•    Utilise the Model environment to verify new products before launch and validate hardware/software updates.  
•    Troubleshoot and resolve issues in project and raised via Test Support Portal.  
•    Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders across and outside of the business.   
•    Sharing of knowledge within the team and outside of the team. Where appropriate, take ownership and coordinate.  
•    Contribute to Test Collaborative Goals to enable the team to go Beyond Limits.  

The skills you'll need

•    Network Testing (e.g. Vendor code upgrades, regression testing, in life issue testing, new feature platform/product testing).  
•    Other skills may be based upon a particular knowledge around (e.g. IP routing technologies, traffic generators, QoS, cloud technologies, data-warehousing).   
•    Proven experience in creating technical documentation.  
•    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.  
•    Certified technical knowledge of network infrastructure, components including and not exhaustive; Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei and Meraki (desirable)
