About the role
The Cyber Security Ops. Professional supports in activities that ensure the delivery of security solutions, supporting daily global operations in the delivery of regular risk reporting, coordinating compliance review activities, and identifying operational improvements and organisational vulnerabilities and risks.
What you’ll be doing
1. Participates in the implementation of risk management procedures, performing security assessments and providing security expertise and support for the implementation of priority security programmes.
2. Supports the delivery of security and tracking key projects of security.
3. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of security operations.
4. Supports the delivery of security execution updates for managing executive and other key stakeholders' interfaces.
5. Supports the creation of meaningful metrics to track and trend the progress of essential security services.
6. Supports leasing with business leaders to proactively identify the security impact of implementations across the BT Group.
7. Supports internal and external communications, ensuring the cadence and content of communications is appropriate, to provide exposure of the security function.
8. Supports partnering with the BT Group corporate security to build complementary services that leverage the scale and capabilities while delivering a line-of-business function.
Essential Skills / Experience
Extensive hands-on experience with Zscaler Proxy and security/network technologies including Firewalls, NGFW, SD‑WAN, IPS/IDS, and Load Balancers.
Strong expertise in IPS policy management and signature tuning.
Good knowledge of device health monitoring tools and systems.
Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with foundational knowledge of cybersecurity domains.
