Why this job matters
Based on the DCP Customer site this role is key to the delivery of the DCP/Dorset contract. The role holder(s) provide a technical skillset to deliver ICT projects. These projects range from small application changes to very large, highly complex Project(s), programmes or portfolios. The team ensure the technical requirements are delivered to estimated time and cost. The team deliver c.2500 days of effort within a financial year across c.400 projects.
The role of Technical Consultant you will be responsible for the technical review of customer requirements, estimate of technical resources to the projects, performing to the required job standards and delivery in accordance to the agreed goals within the SLA driven environment.

What you’ll be doing
1. Responsible for providing Technical Consultancy services for the Devonshire and Cornwall Police Contract ensuring that customer needs are met as per the contractual requirement delivering technical skills to perform Resource Services tower activities across projects and small changes
2. Planning, testing and documenting new and existing functionality to defined specifications/ requirements to agreed estimates
3. Estimating, analysing, designing, documenting, developing, testing and debugging new/changes to services to agreed SLAs / KPIs
4. Delivering an effective and innovative service that is ISO2Ok compliant which meets BT’s contractual obligations and the needs of the customer
5. Identifying/progressing new business opportunities, service enhancements and development opportunities across the Technical Consultancy Services

1. Expert Windows infrastructure and internet technology skills to deliver the role
2. Experience in designing, implementing and managing infrastructure solutions. Including on prem and cloud based environment.
3. Knowledge of EMS products, customer IT systems and applications
4. Competent Communication skills: ability to translate technical into non-technical at all levels internally and externally
5. Adaptability: flexible to changes in working practices and requirements

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
