As a UK PM Practice Manager and Delivery Partner, you sit within the Business UK – Service function, part of the Design and Delivery organisation, reporting into the UK PM Practice Senior Manager.

You’re already operating at, or have experience in, a D-level role, demonstrating leadership and delivery excellence across complex programmes.

In this role, you directly support the end-to-end delivery of high-impact programmes across the UK Public Sector — including Defence, Police, Justice, Central Government, and Local Government — generating significant revenue for BT Business.

 

This job role is based in Middlemoor, Exeter. Hybrid (3 days on client site and 2 days remote) Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. You will need to be eligible to obtain NPPV3 and DCP security clearance before starting this role.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Creates a world-class delivery organisation capable of delivering our most complex projects and programmes.

 

  • Improves the customer experience of project and programme delivery by consistently applying a customer-first mindset. Uses feedback from project journey surveys to drive improvement actions and shares trends across the broader community.

 

  • Ensures the quality of project and programme delivery across a portfolio of significant revenue value. Supports mobilisation of our most challenging projects and programmes, ensuring strong foundations for success.

 

 

  • Maintains visibility across all active programmes and projects, attending internal and external Programme Delivery Boards. Engages with Senior Client Services Lead and Portfolio Leads to understand delivery timelines, key milestones (KOP), dependencies, and risks.

 

  • Oversees resource capacity and cost transformation, collaborating with the Senior Client Services Lead and Resource Partner to manage the pool of Project Managers. Tracks availability, leave, utilisation, and future capacity requirements.

  • Experience as a Project / Programme Manager, delivering complex solutions for Business customers.
  • Experience of managing and delivering business change
  • Experience of managing others and recruiting Programme & Project Managers
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring others to use best-practice processes, methodologies, and tools to support their way of working.
  • Experience of managing a team of programme and project managers.
