Why this job matters
Based on the DCP Customer site (c. 48 People) this role is key to the delivery of the DCP contract. Our Airwave Network team ensures that critical blue light Airwave Radio services are delivered to our end users. The team conduct visits to sites to resolve incidents and maintain services, requiring a high level of communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
In the role of Airwave Radio Professional, your main responsibilities will be to perform preventative maintenance and audits of Police vehicles and desktop radios. You will also be responsible for conducting EMC tests to new Airwave installations which are required for a vehicle to enter operational service. Fault identification and rectification to module level is also a key responsibility. You will also be required to assist with the Airwave Joiner, Mover and Leaver process (JML) and fulfilling Equipment Requests.
For Joiners, this role entails configuring, programming and issuing Airwave terminals and accessories within SLA for new intakes. With Movers, you will be responsible for acquiring authorisation for a requested change, creating a programming batch to reconfigure the terminal and liaising with the end user to implement the change.
Your responsibilities for a Leaver, will be to check if a leaver is issued a terminal and if so, recover the equipment. The above tasks will require you to be proficient in the use of Sepura Radio Manager (RM2), Asset Manager Enterprise (AME), TETRA Gateway and Airwave Solutions SMT and CCM platforms. With Equipment Requests, you will assist with identifying, and issuing consumable items to users. In addition to the above, you will also be expected to assist with other Airwave related administration tasks, including managing incident and request work queues, monthly reporting, stock management.
