Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

We help BT fulfil its global regulatory obligations, supported by our close relationship with customers coupled with our technical expertise and operations staff. We develop innovative service and technical teams that create, manage, and maintain innovative solutions to meet specific customer problems.  

You would be responsible for contributing to the design and deployment of new bespoke systems as well as supporting and maintaining existing ones. You would also contribute to innovation and development of new products, and process improvement initiatives. This role will require working as part of a team, supporting colleagues and collaboration with customers. 

 

This job role can be based in Cheltenham, Ipswich, Sheffield and Manchester. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours. You must be able to obtain DV Security Clearance in order to start this role. You will need to have lived in the UK for 10 years+ to obtain this.

What you’ll be doing

 

  1. Undertake routine daily activities and is accountable for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of network and cloud infrastructure components.
  2. Undertake the implementation of new and enhanced technology that aligns to our customers’ strategic direction for enterprise, cloud and remote site connectivity.
  3. Manage the deployment, testing, and configurations of new platforms both physical and cloud based and the associated integration of these systems to provide end to end monitored services.
  4. Participate in technology lifecycle planning, including contributing to technology roadmaps and future capability development.
  5. Deliver the required documentation, knowledge transfer and training to successfully land new solutions into the support organisation.

What we'd like to see on your CV

 

Mandatory experience:

  • Cisco CCNA Certification or equivalent experience
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or equivalent experience
  • Design, test, delivery and/or support of Cisco Routing, Switching platforms
  • Experience developing IaC on AWS using CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • AWS skills in Networks, EC2, ECS, Lambda (Python) and CloudWatch.

 

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in the design and transition of IP solutions.
  • Experience as 2nd and 3rd line support of integrated Cloud and IP network solutions
  • AWS Professional and Speciality Certifications Certified
  • Security monitoring of Cloud platforms
  • AWS Systems Manager
  • AWS Direct Connect
