Why this role matters
The Plan to Perform process tower is fundamental in ensuring that BT has effective and accurate management / performance reporting and planning capabilities, which are aligned with key analysis activities and part of the Finance Vision that sits in Group FP&A.
This role will be responsible for establishing the next phase of Global Process Ownership (GPO) for Plan to Perform and the process and products that sit under this remit financial processes, setting the vision and roadmap for process excellence, and supporting the business in delivering to that plan.
The Process Owner is accountable for defining, shaping and aligning the Plan to Perform agenda, across management/performance reporting, planning and analysis, and across functional, geographic and business unit boundaries. The role holder will drive standardisation, efficiency and accountability, at the same time as continuously improving our planning and reporting capabilities across BT Group.
As the lead individual responsible for developing, assessing and measuring these processes, and identifying and implementing continuous improvements, the role holder has a fantastic opportunity to enhance BT’s capabilities in these areas, and to leverage the benefits of the BT Groups investment in SAP and a digital toolset.
What I’ll be doing
Key tasks:
• Partnering with operational process owners and all teams involved in Plan to Perform processes to understand end-to-end processes and ensure appropriate process documentation is in place and best in class across industry.
• Develop and demonstrate process excellence and lead on continuous improvements activities that will mature and optimise our processes and track Plan to Perform initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
• Ownership of Plan to Perform documentation suite and ensure all are kept up to date, documented in ARIS and maintain the Plan to Perform SharePoint to include up to date guidance (Focus on BW and SAP MD dimensions)
• Responsible for keeping the Plan to Perform share point site up to date and include new process improvements.
• Managing demand into and from Centre of Excellence and BT Digital teams focusing on BW expertise and driving internal stakeholders to deliver jointly agreed plans to develop a roadmap of initiatives to deliver that vision.
• Collaborate with a wide group of stakeholders across business units and support teams to develop and deliver the Plan to Perform vision
• Business partner Group FP&A teams to support on ‘Hero Products’ in the Plan to Perform roadmap and supporting delivery the vision.
• Owner of Plan to Perform process playbook and working with key stockholders to ensure best in class and supporting units.
• Providing guidance to units on BW reporting suite
The skills and experience you need
Necessary
• Process mapping/continuous improvements: to perform complex process mapping, design and change for Plan to Perform processes across major organisation, identify area’s for improvements
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills: this is a client facing role, you need to be comfortable talking to technical and non-technical people and have the ability to have difficult conversations
• FP&A Process: previous experience with FP&A processes across planning and reporting
• Understanding of SAP information Model: SAP is our new ERP system, it would be of advantage if you have SAP experience and understanding of SAP information model
• Excellent knowledge of SAP and understanding of BW/BPC-C/BPC-P
• You are able to balance bold ambition with realistic expectations, managing transformational change within an environment of multiple demands
Desirable
• Qualified or partially qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent) or relevant technical experience
• Project management qualifications
• Six Sigma qualifications
