About the role
You will play a vital role in enabling ServiceNow to function as BT’s unified workflow engine by ensuring it can seamlessly exchange data with the systems it depends on. ServiceNow is only as powerful as the integrations that feed it—incident creation, HR cases, asset updates, approvals, CMDB population, automation triggers and more all rely on timely, reliable, and secure integrations. By contributing to Kafka event streams and microservices that move data into and out of ServiceNow, this role strengthens data quality, reduces manual effort, increases automation, and ensures that platform teams and business units can trust ServiceNow as a real time source of truth. This role underpins the stability, scalability, and future evolution of BT’s ServiceNow platform.
What you’ll be doing
• Developing, configuring, and customizing the ServiceNow platform to fit business requirements.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements
• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code requires expertise to achieve.
• Code reviews and quality control checks should be undertaken as part of every project to guarantee maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Debugging and fixing technical problems
• Producing and running test cases to guarantee software quality.
• Documenting code and application functionality
• Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in ServiceNow development ensures your success.
• Assist in designing and building integration services using microservices patterns and event‑driven architectures.
• Contribute to the development of RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Support the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
Essential Skills / Experience
• Creative problem solver, able to build contingency plans and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
• Understanding of JIRA, REACT, Confluence and dashboarding technologies
Desirable Skills / Experience
• Service now ITSM, CSM, ITOM module experience
• TMF Open API’s
• System Integration (SOAP, Restful)
• React, Javascript, NODE.js, Python
• Awareness of ServiceNow Integration Hub or other integration platforms.
• Understanding of monitoring tools, logging frameworks, or API gateways.
• Interest in automation, DevOps, and continuous improvement.
Experience you’d be expected to have
• Proven experience in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective procedures and systems requirements that meet business requirements.
• Service now Development experience of 2-7 years
• Experience in developing applications from scratch.
• Experience in working with Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence etc.
