Why this role matters
Group Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) sits at the heart of the BT Group. We manage planning, reporting, cash management, commercial finance and finance systems, supporting our colleagues across the Group to be successful.
Operating right at the centre of corporate-decision making, you will have the opportunity to rapidly build knowledge of our whole business whilst developing skills in communication, stakeholder management, and leadership as well as applying best in class analytical techniques to facilitate Executive-level decision making.
This is a vital role in supporting delivery of BT Group financial goals. You will build a comprehensive understanding of monthly financial performance across the Group, translating that understanding into clear actionable insight for the Group CFO, Executive Committee and Board.
What you'll be doing
- Understand, evaluate and challenge monthly Unit financial results versus our Medium-Term Plan (MTP), latest forecasts and prior year
- Synthesize key performance drivers and insights for consumption by the Group CFO, Executive Committee and Board
- Coordination and production of accurate and insightful Group management reporting
- Partner with and matrix-manage a wide array of Group and unit stakeholders
- Contribute to evaluation of Unit MTP (Medium Term Plan) submissions as part of the annual MTP process
- Support the systemised reporting process and our roadmap to transform reporting at BT Group
- Support other key analysis projects on an ad-hoc basis
The skills you’ll need
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate performance insights in a simple way
- Able to identify issues, get to root causes through the use of financial analysis and insight to diagnose and solve problems
- Ability to build trusting relationships with stakeholders, guiding, collaborating and sharing knowledge to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrable ability to drive change and support the finance transformation agenda
- Decision making in ambiguous situations, using incomplete information or managing differing opinions
