Why this job matters
Planning team member will, under the direction of the planning professionals, deliver concise, accurate, planning workpacks detailing how new technology is delivered into the core estate across the main KPI’s of infrastructure – space, power, cooling & connectivity. As the technology driving the network evolves, the role will also involve planning the decommission and removal of network infrastructure, ensuring our critical records are maintained accurately to support capacity reporting and new initiatives. The workpacks need to be produced to a level standard and include tendering requirements which will be accepted by external contractors. The role holder will work within a wider team and support colleagues in providing solutions to complex infrastructure challenges, upholding best practices and flagging up concessions, issues and concerns as they happen.
You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of projects through:

What you'll be doing
- Deliver complex planning activities ranging from new product introduction, same again roll-out, migrations and decommissioning.
- Maintain the audit and record keeping of site level asset and planning information
- Be the subject matter expert for assigned tasks, and demonstrate knowledge and application of specified guidelines and standards.
- Support continuous improvement methodologies throughout the team, look for improvements through the end-to-end process.
- Demonstrate competence of core inside plant tools for all installation, upgrades and decommission activities.
- Escalation of risks and issues where appropriate.
What you'll bring
MANDATORY
- Excellent Knowledge of creating detailed planning instruction documents and Circuit Manager knowledge.
- Experience and knowledge of CDM requirements.
- Experience of delivering to data centre quality standards, while having the ability to react at a moments notice to change in specification or adverse issues on site or in the office.
- Strong knowledge and experience in datacentre structured cabling methodology for copper and fibre solutions.
- Good knowledge of AC and DC electrical distribution methodologies for datacentres.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodology.
- Experience in structured cabling and fibre design.
- Experience in creating and maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Ability to drive excellence in execution through attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with peers around the business.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in Core Network Engineering from a planning perspective including expert knowledge of Workflow and incumbent OSS tools.
- Experience of developing solutions based on practice and previous experience but not necessarily covered by procedures.
- Experience in working in a cross functional environment obtaining the detailed information required to fulfil the role.
