As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll be central to our ability to hire the right people at the right time. By managing the recruitment process effectively, you’ll support business growth, enhance the candidate experience, and strengthen BT’s reputation as an employer of choice.
What you’ll be doing
•Advise hiring managers on recruitment plans, assessing feasibility around volume, skillsets, and location to support strategic goals.
•Manage everything from briefing, sourcing, and interviewing to salary negotiation and onboarding, ensuring a seamless and inclusive candidate journey.
•Uphold recruitment policy, data integrity, and compliance throughout the process, making sure hiring decisions are robust and evidence-based.
•Build strong pipelines through proactive sourcing and talent pooling. Collaborate with employer branding to design campaigns that attract top and diverse talent.
•Track key hiring metrics including time-to-hire and hiring manager satisfaction. Use insight to continuously improve the recruitment process.
•Manage relationships with hiring managers, internal teams, and preferred suppliers to support fast, effective hiring.
•Leverage market intelligence, recruitment trends, and new tools (including AI) to offer fresh thinking and improve delivery.
•Promote inclusive hiring practices and advocate for hybrid ways of working to attract and retain great people.
The skills you'll need to succeed
•Background in large, complex, or global organisations—either in-house or through RPO environments.
•Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior HR and business leaders across a matrixed organisation.
•Confident in advising and influencing stakeholders on hiring decisions, market insight, and process improvements.
•Skilled at balancing priorities and managing expectations across multiple roles and business demands.
•Track record of meeting individual targets and delivering on SLAs, KPIs, and recruitment performance goals.
•Deep understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle—from requisition through to offer and onboarding.
•Experience managing third-party agency relationships and ensuring effective performance.
•Passionate about providing a standout, inclusive candidate experience at every stage.
•Up to date with recruitment trends including D&I, selection and assessment methods, early careers hiring, and employment law.
