Why this job matters
The BT Group Transformation Governance & Assurance team is part of the Strategy & Change (S&C) Unit led by the Chief S&C Officer, which in turn is part of the BT Group Corporate Units.
One of the primary objectives of the Group S&C team is to accelerate and enhance the delivery of BT’s transformation.  
In support of this the objectives of the Transformation Governance & Assurance team are to:
•    Equip ExCo and other leaders with relevant and timely insight on the performance of the portfolio of transformation programmes to ensure delivery, manage interdependencies and address risks
•    Provide independent periodic assurance on select programmes over time to ensure information presented is accurate and identify opportunities for acceleration or risk management

 

The role works closely with the Group Transformation Governance & Assurance Director, Group colleagues and unit transformation leads as a key contributor to enabling the desired levels of risk in the group transformation portfolio

 

Key elements of the role include:

Assurance
•    Develop and implement a quality assurance framework and plan for the Group Transformation programmes based on the Transformation standard 
•    Conduct ongoing assurance with each programme through the monthly cycle using a combination of review and self-assessment to assess risk and fairness of reporting
•    Conduct deep-dive assurance reviews on individual programmes and broad topics utilizing common industry practice and the Transformation Standard to assess risk, opportunities and reported status
•    Partner with Group Internal Audit to share learnings and co-ordinate reviews

 Leadership
•    Provide advice and coaching on governance and assurance issues to the S&C teams and wider transformation professionals BT-wide
•    Drive knowledge sharing on emerging trends and changes in transformation principles and practices
•    Partner on the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to improve Transformation Governance and Assurance processes.

The experience you'll have 
•    Conducting high level and deep dive assurance reviews on transformation programmes at scale
•    Identifying risk and opportunities in a portfolio to target assurance
•    Leading large streams on transformation programmes at scale through the full lifecycle, including those with significant technology components, focused on cost efficiency and business operation simplification
•    Operating with a range of delivery models, including Agile, Waterfall and hybrids
•    Engaging at an Executive level
•    Developing and optimising assurance frameworks
•    Managing teams of professionals
•    The technology and telco sectors, including current and emerging developments around Cloud, SaaS and AI/GenAI
