The BT Enterprise - architecture team is transforming the architecture of one of our key customer facing units. This role supports the transformation of the BT Enterprise Wholesale unit supporting B2B2X customers, evolving BT into much more than a communication provider. Helping 
As the BT Wholesale enterprise architect you will be responsible for the architecture in BT Wholesale helping BT design & transform the technology landscape. For this role we welcome applications from experienced architects, designers & technical business analysts, developers, engineers or others who wish to move an architecture role.



Technology Strategy




•    Ensure peers and the Solution Architect community is fully aware of the latest IT strategy and EA guidance within your Enterprise domain




•    Ensuring that BT Enterprise Architecture, methods, technology standards and best practices are maintained within your area


What you’ll be doing:


•    Develop a Wholesale IT strategy through reuse of the simplified B2B IT architecture supporting their B2B2X goals and strategies
•    Driving a business capability, complexity, cost, risk and maturity assessment of the current state architecture to meet business outcome and simplification goals
•    Creating a simple & agile architecture for Wholesale driving business value & re-use, removing cost & legacy 
•    Engage extensively with colleagues in multiple teams to guide their design work & unblock obstacles.
•    Make architecture decisions related to specific capabilities & domain areas across the E2E stack.
•    Driving Enterprise Architecture & support business case development of signature ready cases that deliver timely, fit for purpose strategic transformation.
•    Recognise potential strategic application of emerging IT capabilities, anticipating global trends. Initiating and managing investigation & development of innovative methods, practices & technology, with potential for BT. 
•    Promoting, evangelising and agreeing the IT strategy and Enterprise Architecture across all teams and ensuring there is consensus and understanding across the business for Wholesale.


What you’ll need: 


•    Ability to help BT transform, modernise & simplify to be more competitive & agile.
•    An understanding of the E2E. Ability to work as part of a team to achieve your goals.
•    A good understanding of how isolated technical capabilities can turn into reusable patterns.
•    Ability to help cut through noise to help make decisions to unlock engineers, solution architects and other stakeholders.
•    A methodical approach to handling complex problems in a large organisation.
•    A mature understanding of the principles of solution architecture, cloud architecture, data architecture and software engineering.
•    Ability to learn rapidly and develop expertise in new domain areas.
•    Ability to communicate in both the business jargon and the technology jargon, and translate effectively between the two.
•    Ability to perform risk assessment and capability gap analysis.
