Network Design Specialist - RAN RF Coverage Tools - ESN

The ESN will replace the existing Airwave network and building upon on EE’s existing 4G network and to provide essential new voice, data services, and critical communications services to 300,000 members of frontline emergency service users.

You will lead the technical design and evolution of the Portal and coverage prediction tools, enhancing coverage assurance and service availability through automation and analytics. Working with Technology and Business stakeholders, you’ll advance RAN tools and network availability for 2G/4G/5G/NB IoT across Consumer and Emergency Services Networks, while developing OSS solution designs that improve customer experience through change validation.

The successful candidate will be cleared to BPSS (or equivalent) as a minimum.  You may even be required to undergo National Security Vetting (e.g. CTC, SC or NPPV).

What you’ll be doing

•    Serve as a RAN OSS design authority, focusing on visualization tools for radio coverage, capacity, and infrastructure analytics.
•    Define the approach for complex, high-impact OSS solutions across dedicated network environments.
•    Determine the scope, design, and resource needs for RAN Tools, balancing cost and delivery timelines.
•    Engage with technical and non-technical users to develop solution strategies for predicting, planning, and visualizing RAN data.
•    Ensure systems meet GDPR and security standards while advising a matrix team to deliver network design solutions and technical guidance.

The skills you’ll need

What we would like to see on your CV

•    Expertise in Mobile Radio Network & OSS architecture design, development, and operations.
•    Proficient in database design, data extraction, reporting, and utilizing radio network infrastructure data.
•    Skilled in translating business requirements into technical solutions, including experience with UML and industry best practices.
•    Strong data analysis and presentation skills, with a focus on business strategy, performance drivers, and building cases for change.
•    Experienced in network radio coverage, GIS/geo-spatial tools, radio frequency planning tools (e.g., Forsk Atoll, HTZ ICS Telecom), and familiarity with AWS or Azure.

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
