Why this job matters

The Senior Manager - Business Development & Distribution Partnerships leads the development of our distribution beyond our direct business through new and innovative partnerships and channels, enabling further reach for all our brands and for all our products and services.


This role is also accountable for PAYG distribution partnerships which is a core strategic channel for EE enabling us to reach customers in over +100k touch points across mass retail, independent, airports, etc. 

 

This role has end to accountability for all business development activity from building strategy of potential right fit partners, engagement, commercial and contractual negotiation and implementation through to execution/in life management. In addition, this role has full accountability for the existing indirect partnerships, contracts & channel. 

What you'll be doing

  • Accountable for defining and executing business development partner strategy underpinning our  ambition to reach new customers.  
  • Accountable for identifying potential right fit  partners across and building a pipeline of opportunities which align to our wider distribution strategy and deliver material incremental upside.
  • Own commercial approach terms, model, contractual & commercial negotiation for all business development partnerships
  • Accountable for all PAYG distribution Partnerships ensuring our share position is maintained and  MTP ambition (volume/value) for indirect PAYG is achieved
  • Owner of the commercial and contractual terms ensuring both partners & EE fulfil their objections. Evolve, negotiate and implement commercial agreements to support future growth / best in class customer experience from this channels.
  • Manage all commercial and contractual risks, issues and opportunities ensuring where appropriate they are capitalized on and/or closed down
  • Oversee and own end to end account planning, Management & regular account reviews
  • Own partnerships from engagement (up to board level) ensuring we are best placed to build credible, innovate new distribution partnerships.
  • Onboard, implement and execution new partnerships- supporting best in class customer experience and driving high demand / sales for new markets.
  • Lead Business Development activity across the wider business (marketing/channel/etc.) to ensure opportunities fully exploited / supported.
  • Manage a team of 6 direct reports. 

What we're looking for

  • Entrepreneurial  approach to driving growth and creating new opportunities
  • Experience of defining and owning business strategy
  • Expert in partnership management/biz development (up to board level)  - navigating win/win outcomes for EE & partner
  • Experience of building commercial approaches/ models / terms to establish strategic business development partners/opportunities
  • Experience of creating and presenting up to MD level securing buy in/driving fundamental change
  • Proven experience of driving fundamental change whilst (across business/in channel) executing best in class
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team (direct management & cross business) to deliver the business plan.
  • Strong understanding of financial/commercial performance mechanics and the levers to drive revenue, EBITDA and FCF.
